Update: added another star for their extremely kind and excellent hospital manager Chloe. She called us next day and we were able to discuss what frustrated us with our care and what our biggest concerns were - and i did feel genuinely heard, understood, and compensated. It does make me feel that we may have been a one off experience- Chloe demonstrated a level of care and passion that showed us VEG takes these situations extremely serious. Im going to leave my review as is below, but I do think the conversation i had made it very clear to me how much VEG cares, and wants to do right by pet parents. ------ If you get put into a room - FIGHT FOR YOUR PET. I had a kitty come in with a blown pupil, potential serious head trauma. I came in at 9:15 am, put in a room by 9:30 and was not seen by a doctor until TWO HOURS LATER at 11:30 am. One tech came in to weight her and check her ears around 9:45am - was not informed she was stable or could wait to be seen. I spent 6.5hours at the ER vet for them to constantly forget about us and had to fight EVERY STEP of the way to be seen. I spent maybe a total of 30 minutes with a doctor, and there was absolutely ZERO communication between staff. One staff thought she had been seen already and then came in to perform a check that she was still stable after I had to reiterate that no one had seen her. The doctor came in at one point and wasn't even sure what tests had been done on my cat. I had to inform her. Not bothering to read the chart, check in, or explain what is happening was incredibly stressful. I absolutely do not recommend this place for cats unless you have to. The one positive however- their vet tech staff was excellent. I watched them draw blood, performed a stain test, and x-ray with gentle patience, and excellent technique. The tech staff was kinder and more understanding to answer questions on the extremely expensive estimate for her care. They were nice, but constantly apologizing for the wait. I absolutely understand that more urgent cases can come in - but NO ONE communicated with us. I had to ask every.single.time. it felt like we were forgotten about. I waited more than hour between each step and frankly I dont care about spending hours in the ER for my pet if she needs it, but she didnt. She spent the day waiting for hours to be seen when they didnt know the extent of her trauma, and im so thankful she did not die or worsen for that.

The experience we had with VEG was fantastic. When we arrived, we met with Dr. Butts to have Leia evaluated and come up with a plan of treatment for her. Following that, he consulted with Dr. Rodriguez for surgery. They treated Leia with the utmost care. The support staff was also fantastic in keeping her comfortable and taken care of. I appreciated the time everyone spent with us answering our questions and concerns.
